He was the Co-founder and Chief Technology officer of Kimberlite Applied Sciences and Pure Crystal Technology. Prior to that he was Director of Advanced Development and a former core member of Apollo Diamond, a pioneer in the manufacturing of single crystal diamond.  He has been awarded over 21 patents; published over a dozen publications in Diamond Growth, including high volume Single Crystal CVD diamond for Industrial Applications.

Ronald Walsworth is a Professor & Founding Director of the Quantum Technology Center at the University of Maryland. He has more than 25 years experience in the development of precision measurement tools and their application across the life and physical sciences, including as co-founder and advisor to multiple companies spun out of his laboratory.

VP Commercialization

Experienced technical leader at the intersection of chemistry, materials science, microgravity manufacturing, and sustainability. Led the Customer Systems team at Sierra Space, where he helped design a commercial space station focused on markets including in-space manufacturing, R&D, and human spaceflight. Previously a Postdoctoral Scholar and Member of the Research Staff at Xerox PARC, where he served as principal investigator on advanced materials projects. Holds a Ph.D. in Chemistry from the University of California, Berkeley.
